Following the 2022 energy price shock, Groupe Mutuel had its entire building portfolio equipped with ECCO2: throttling the heating, fact-based instead of on suspicion – with FOEN-certified savings.

Autumn 2022, energy prices are at record levels, the supply situation is uncertain. All over the country, owners were asking the same question: how far can the heating be throttled without harming the tenants? At Groupe Mutuel the answer was clear: not without data.
The insurer therefore had its entire building portfolio equipped with ECCO2 Building Intelligence: consumption and indoor climate data in real time, every adjustment fact-based. Target: 15 percent less heating consumption, the value the federal government is aiming for nationwide.
The background: around 90 percent of Swiss heating systems require an on-site intervention for every adjustment. With remote control via the AI, this is no longer necessary. The rollout was carried out in 2023 by the installation partner Cablex; the savings are certified under the mandate of the Federal Office for the Environment and are eligible for subsidies.
